76' Spirit of St. Christopher |
|
Get ready to sail the loveliest waters in the world. As your companion and tour guide, we thought you might like to know a little more about us.
Treasure Isle Cruises is one of the oldest tour agencies in the Caribbean. Established in 1970 by present owner Jimmy Loveland, the company serves over 70,000 visitors annually -
providing an experience of fun and informative tours and mini-adventures. Ask about our Virgin Islands Adventure Cruise for an exciting opportunity to see all of the Virgin Islands, U.S. and British.
Treasure Isle Cruises operates the Spirit of St., Christopher. Built in 1984 for ocean racing, she was designed by the late Peter Spronk, known as the "speed merchant" of sailing catamarans.
After her retirement from racing (across the Atlantic and around Great Britain), she came to the U.S. Virgin Islands where she became a U.S. Coast Guard certified passenger vessel, eventually purchased
by Capt. Loveland. F.A.Q.'s About the Trip What should I pack? How do I pack? Although the islands are very casual, bathing suits or unbuttoned shirts in town or country are frowned on. Seldom do you see ties or jackets.
Some kind of rain protection may be desired. Be sure to pack a sweater or sweatshirt for cool nights. Brimmed hats are a must for sun
protection (better bring two!). Also bring two bathing suits, and a pair of good boat shoes. Please remember that we are limited by weight. We request that you
bring no more than two pieces of luggage ... totaling less than 45 lbs. Live in a bathing suit! What is a "One Goes Ashore" bag?
A small duffel bag will be helpful as your second piece of luggage. On several occasions, we'll ask you to pack just an overnight bag, We call
it the "One Goes Ashore" bag. Since the trip is casual, you'll want to go ashore as light as possible! What is the climate like? The climate is sunny with year-round temperatures ranging in the mid 80's during the day, 70's most nights. There is no
particular rainy season, though scattered rain showers are a certainty.
What type of currency do I need? The American dollar is accepted even in the British Islands. Most
places will take major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). Travelers checks are also welcome. How much money should I bring?
You will be responsible for your meals at the beginning and ending of the cruise (while on St. Thomas) and for Customs/Port taxes which are $30 per person. Also, you may want to shop or opt for a dive
outing or optional tour. ATMs can be found on St. Thomas, Tortola and in Virgin Gorda.
